Copying the Rain Check product code from the Rain Check tab in the Inventory module

 

In the 3.98 release, you have the ability to copy the product code from the Rain Check tab and paste it into the Sales screen. Previously, only the issue date could be copied. Because your customers often forget their rainchecks, you can look it up, copy the product code and then paste it into the Sales screen which will speed up the process and cause fewer errors now.

To search, copy and paste an RC product code in Inventory

If a customer wants to redeem a raincheck and they do not have their slip, you have to search for it in Inventory first:

1. Go to Inventory.

2. Select the Rain Check tab at the top and middle of the screen. The Rain Check section displays.

3. Find the raincheck item (begins with an RC) of the customer:

• If they are a customer entered into your database, use the Product field to search on their name (try entering their last name).

• If they paid cash and are a Cash Account item, you will need to find another way to narrow down the search, for example, the day/time it was issued might work.

  WARNING: If you pick the wrong one and redeem it by mistake, then you could have a customer who DID NOT lose his raincheck present it for redemption, only to be told it was already used.

4. Select the raincheck from the Raincheck list on the left. The information about that raincheck displays on the right and the raincheck code is in the Product Code field.

5. In the Product Code field, highlight the product code for the raincheck, right-click and select Copy.

6. Go to Sales. Click the Sales icon or select Go to from the top-menu bar and select Sales..

7. To apply the raincheck, look up and select a sale item that belongs to a category of items that has the raincheck box checked in Sales Categories In Options | Reference Table. Note: Do this before pasting and selecting the raincheck itself.

8. Right-click in the Product Search field in the middle of the screen and select Paste.

9. Double-click the raincheck item code from the drop-down that displays below the Product Search field.

10. Finalize the sale as you normally would.
